A Congregation of Loose Associations
A 2005 installation inspired by a circuitous connection between three unlikely figures, former Sec. of State, Madeleine K. Albright, playwright, former political dissident and President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, and former front man of the Velvet Undergrond, Lou Reed. Reportedly the three were so disruptive at a John Zorn concert that he stopped playing and told them to "shut the fuck up".
The installation included oversized ceramic busts on velvet pedestals, paper mache heads to be worn (as Zorn and the Velvet Undergound played in the background) and a souvenir stand offering commemorative items celebrating these three characters.
